    This book compares the socio-economic status of the Malaysian states over the years. It compares the incidence of poverty, income and amenities by state. It examines economic structure by state, including the agriculture, manufacturing and services sub-sectors, which affect the respective state economic growth. Regional Disparities and Federalism in Malaysia examines the constitutional powers of the Federal Government and the State Governments, including powers over mineral and petroleum resources, land, forest, industrialization as well as foreign trade. In particular, it relates these powers to financial and administrative decisions, which have influenced regional disparities.
