The Textbook of Paediatrics and Child Health is the only textbook in Paediatrics in Malaysia to
be written mostly by experienced teachers and experts from local universities and Ministry
of Health, Malaysia. It covers core subjects in clinical paediatrics, child health promotion and
prevention. The textbook is largely written in point form and include tables, diagrams, clinical
photographs, flow charts, red-flags and case scenarios, making reading and learning from this
textbook easy and enjoyable. This Textbook is relevant to medical students in Malaysia, as well as
junior doctors and paediatric trainees.


Professor Lee Way Seah is a Professor in Paediatrics and senior consultant paediatric
gastroenterologist and hepatologist at Faculty of Medicine, University Malaya, Kuala Lumpur.
Professor Lee has been actively involved in teaching and training undergraduate and postgraduate
students, as well as fellows in paediatric gastroenterology and hepatology for more than 23 years.
He has edited two undergraduate textbooks in paediatrics and has published widely in international
and national academic journals. He is an external examiner for final professional examination for local
universities as well as universities in Hong Kong. Besides teaching, writing, diagnosing and treating,
his hobbies include traveling, nature walking, reading and listening to music.

Dr Tay Chee Geap is currently a consultant paediatric neurologist at Sunway Medical Centre, Petaling
Jaya, Selangor. He studied medicine and underwent postgraduate and sub-specialty training at
Faculty of Medicine, University Malaya. He was an academic staff at Department of Paediatrics,
University Malaya, Kuala Lumpur for 12 years, from 2007 to 2019. In addition to teaching and training
both undergraduate and postgraduate students, Dr Tay has published widely in both national and
international peer-reviewed academic journals. Outside clinical medicine, he loves nature and likes
bricks/model kits.

Dr Lum Su Han is a consultant paediatric haematologist at Great North Children’s Hospital, Newcastle
upon Tyne, United Kingdom. She studied medicine, received her paediatric training and completed
her fellowship in paediatric oncology and haematology at the University of Malaya, Malaysia. She
underwent training in haematopoietic stem cell transplantation and cellular therapy in Manchester
and Newcastle from 2015 to 2018. She has completed the Harvard Medical School Global Clinical
Scholars Research Training Program and the Rare Diseases Clinical Research Network Program. Her
major research interests relate to studying transplant outcomes and optimising transplantation
strategies for children with inborn errors of immunity and metabolism.
