This Playbook serves as an essential reading for law enforcers, government officials, health care and medical professionals, prosecutors, judicial officials, lawyers, scholars, students, NGOs, and anyone interested in anti-human trafficking initiatives and wanting to make a difference in their communities. This book is produced after having several in-depth discussions with representatives from the United States Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, the Malaysian Council for Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants, the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development of Malaysia, NGOs, and scholars. The aim of this book is to educate the law enforcers and the general public on the various types of human trafficking to avoid conflating human trafficking with migration and smuggling. The book also explores effective ways to protect victims of trafficking using the concept of “do no harm” while searching for credible evidence to prosecute traffickers in court.
